Self-taught, the artist and weaver ISAURA MATTOS
makes Eco Arts: using off cuts of fabric made from recycled plastic
bottles (PET), Isaura weaves her
decorative pieces in hand looms. These pieces, after being hand painted,
can be used as mats or wall hangings.

Born in the State of Pananá, Brazil, from an early age Isaura showed
her inclination
for the arts, mainly drawing and painting. Unfortunately there were no
specific art courses in her small
town and she started to develop her own method: that of observation.
Still today, whenever
possible she dedicates some of her time to do just that: observe.
According to her, the world is made of light, shadow and many colours.
On the 22nd of March 2001, during the
celebration of the World Water Day, Isaura received an award for
her contribution in the preservation
of our environment from the
Association of Businesswomen and Professional Women of Curitiba.
